Jessica Simpson

Biography:
Jessica Simpson was born July 10, 1980, in Dallas, Texas, this sexy 5' 3" recording star and singer displays a hard core attitude in her performances. Jessica has a younger sister named Ashlee. Her father, who is a psychologist, manages her career, and her mother designs her wardrobe and assists in the business affairs. Jessica first developed and nurtured her talent in the local Baptist church, where her father also works as the congregation's youth minister. While at church camp, at the age of 13, Jessica sang Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and an arrangement of "Amazing Grace". One of the camp's visitors, a gentleman who was launching a gospel record label saw great promise and profits in her voice. Jessica began to tour with Christian youth conferences with tunes like "True Love Waits", sometimes entertaining audiences of 20,000 people. Jessica is boldly traveling down several fresh new musical avenues. In addition to offering more of the lush, passionate ballads that have become her signature, she has effectively expanded her creative styles. This includes ebullient rhythm pop and sultry R&B and is a collection of funk-fortified songs and sophisticated contemporary ballads. Jessica has the finesse and confidence of a well seasoned performer. Jessica says she is part of a positive new breed of teenager and youths who welcome responsibility and propriety. In school, Jessica hung with a crowd that was popular and respected, and she was elected Homecoming Queen two years in a row at J.J. Pierce High School. Jessica's relationship with her fans is of tremendous importance to her. "They keep me going. They inspire me. I do all I can to keep in close touch with the fans who support my music, whether it be via my shows or on the Internet. The energy I get from them is extraordinary." Jessica states, "That's what I really wanted to come across on these songs, confidence". Jessica notes, "I wanted to show that with that inner strength and inner light, nothing is impossible." That said, Jessica admits that she does occasionally enjoy flexing a little external heat... even if it's completely innocent. "There's a cut on the album, 'Hot Like Fire', that I think will take people by surprise", she says of the self-assured hip-hop-flavored cut produced by Cory Rooney. "It's a hard-core 'attitude' song. You might not even recognize my voice at first. It's totally raw and intense. It's a shake-your-hips kind of song. I love it."

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, the future superstar realized her calling early on in life, and after making a strong impression on her church choir, Simpson soon gathered the courage to audition for a featured role on The Mickey Mouse Club revival show MMC. Though Simpson was turned down for the role that was eventually filled by Spears and later Christina Aguilera, the determined songstress was discovered the following summer by the head of a Contemporary Christian music label and spent the next three years crafting her debut album. When the small label folded before Simpson's freshman effort was released, the young singer's grandmother showed faith in her granddaughter's talent by putting up the funding needed for a small pressing, and Simpson's popularity on the CCM scene boomed. Signing to Sony shortly thereafter, Simpson found strong crossover appeal with the release of her major label debut, Sweet Kisses in 1999. Released the same year as both Spears' and Aguilera's wildly successful debut albums, Sweet Kisses allowed Simpson to finally achieved pop superstardom alongside two of the biggest rising stars on the pop music scene.

2002: Marriage to Nick Lachey and TV success
After Simpson married 98° singer Nick Lachey in the fall of 2002, her star continued to rise when the couple appeared in MTV's Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica the following year. Coming on the heels of a series of successful television guest appearances, Simpson's lovably ditzy onscreen persona and conventional beauty in Newlyweds showed remarkable potential for a successful career in film and television in addition to her already established role as a pop superstar. By the time Simpson was signed to appear in the big-screen adaptation of the popular 1980s television series The Dukes of Hazzard, audiences were already familiar with her likeable onscreen presence, and her winning combination of blonde beauty and playful innocence made her the perfect choice to fill the Daisy Dukes of the character whose name has since become synonymous with the popular cutoff jean shorts of that era. Subsequently cast as a bombshell cashier whose habit of only dating employees bestowed with the titular honor spraks a bitter competition between two male rivals in the 2006 comedy Employee of the Month, Simpson was next rumored to be up for a role in Dallas; yet another feature remake of a 1970s-era television hit. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Personal Life:

Simpson attended Richardson, Texas public schools, including Richardson North Junior High and J.J. Pearce High School.[7][8]
On October 26, 2002, at age 22, Simpson married Nick Lachey and confirmed that she had remained a virgin until her wedding night. Simpson was always vocal since she came into the spotlight that she was saving her virginity until marriage. In November 2005, after months of tabloid speculation, Simpson and Lachey announced they were separating. Simpson filed for divorce on December 16, 2005, citing "irreconcilable differences." The couple's divorce was publicized worldwide and was reportedly finalized on June 30.
Simpson reportedly told Jane magazine in October 2006 that she knew her marriage to Lachey was over when he refused to join her on a charity trip to Africa, even though it was on their third wedding anniversary.[9] Questions remain over whether the trip was to celebrate the anniversary, or a PR junket guided by her father/manager, who accompanied her on that day.
The couple reportedly sold their Calabasas, California mansion in which Newlyweds was filmed to Malcolm in the Middle star Justin Berfield for $3.75 million.
Simpson received increased publicity following her divorce, reportedly having romances with her Employee of the Month co-star Dane Cook and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. On February 6, 2007, the Associated Press reported that Simpson said she was stung when her ex-husband jumped back into dating after their high-profile breakup. "Oh, it hurt me," the 26-year-old singer-actress says in an interview in the March issue of Elle. "Two or three weeks later? Yeah, I'd say it kind of hurt me."[10][11] Magazines have also speculated that she was jealous of her ex-husband's growing stardom and relationship with television personality Vanessa Minnillo, though she has publicly denied this.
Simpson dated John Mayer for over nine months.[12] Dating rumors started in August 2006 with a People magazine article, but kicked into high gear when Simpson and Mayer spent New Year's holiday together in New York City, both attending Christina Aguilera's New Years Eve 2006 party.[13] Reports indicated that the two were publicly very affectionate. In the March 2007 issue of Elle, Simpson said that in her private life she is "begging and pleading for privacy," but the interviewer did notice emails, videos, and photos of Mayer on Simpson's laptop.[11] The two were spotted kissing and hugging at a 2007 Grammy Awards after-party, and posed for photos.[14] Simpson also accompanied Mayer for several dates of his 2007 winter tour, before the two departed for Rome.[15][16][17] Mayer and Simpson split in May of 2007.[citation needed]
In November 2007, Simpson began dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. They celebrated Thanksgiving together at Simpson's grandparents' home in Waco Texas.[18] She has also been seen at Cowboys home games.[19]
On August 17, 2007 Jessica announced that she had broken her nose while on the set of her new film Major Movie Star. She was running with a gun over her head and tripped and fell.[citation needed]
